Recipe: Kick-Start Smoothie
Serves 2
- 1 ripe mango
- Freshly squeezed juice of 1 large orange
- 1 banana
Method

Stand the mango on a chopping board and carefully cut either side of the large, flat stone using a sharp knife. Scoop out the flesh with a dessert spoon and place in a jug.
- Add the orange juice and banana. Blend with a stick-blender or in a liquidiser or smoothie maker until smooth. Pour into two, tall glasses and serve.

Health Facts
Mangoes are an excellent source of betacarotene which the body converts into vitamin A. Diets rich in betacarotene may help protect against certain types of cancer. Bananas contain a special type of fibre that helps stimulate the growth of 'friendly' bacteria in the gut.
