Updating and adding character to a doorway can drastically affect the flow of your home.

A French door will carry natural light into an otherwise dark interior and can change a doorway from a purely functional entry to a point of interest and finesse.

First, remove the old door, along with its hinges.

Purchase a French Door or pair of doors to fit the doorway. Protect the panes of glass with painter’s tape and/or plastic. Prime the door since a natural wood frame will soak up a lot of paint.

After the primer is dry, paint the door in a tone that matches your space. For a little extra style, take time to select a decorative knob for your door, then hang the door in its place.
