Coordinating Flowers with Decor

Your home should be your sanctuary and one sure way to keep it to that mantra is to take time to smell the flowers. Flowers brighten any space and invite prospective buyers with their fresh scent.

When selecting florals for your home you need to decide on a colour scheme – pick petals that will compliment your room’s décor. Bringing a fabric swatch to the florist can be a good idea.

Once your palette has been established, select flowers in varying sizes, to create visual interest and texture to the arrangement.

To keep the flowers looking their best, be sure to choose the right vase – a tall vase will suit tall thin flowers best, while a wide vase will best suite fuller, rounded, or multi-blossom stemmed flowers. Select your vase based on your arrangements and cut flowers accordingly. Cutting stems on an angle and under water will help lengthen their lifespan.

Follow your instincts with the arrangements, experiment and have fun!! Find a home for your flowers with a good amount of sunlight, and not too close to windows, heating or air-conditioning vents. Once you find the perfect place for your flowers, sit back, relax, and breathe in your brightened room!
