Tips

A good design trick to extend the height of a room is to get rid of plate rail where the wall and ceiling join. Replace this plate rail with crown molding. Then leave four inches of space below this molding, where you will add half inch mould. After you paint, this will look like thick crown molding, extending the height of the room and adding an elegant feature to your home.
