After years of smoke and animals a house can sometimes take on a new smell that is not very inviting to potential home buyers. An easy and inexpensive way to deodorize a house is to use clay rings that fit around a light bulb. Place the clay ring around the top of a light bulb or around the bottom of a hanging bulb. As the bulb heats up the clay ring will send fresh scents throughout the home.
When preparing your home for sale, warm neutral colours are usually recommended. However, when working with high ceilings that can afford to come down a bit, you can also afford to use dark paint. If you keep your walls a light colour, your home will still have a warm feeling. But the dark, rich ceiling colour will allow for a more intimate and cozy look in a spacious room.
