Episode 4: The Red Purse Diaries

Episode Outline: Brigitte's good friend Michelle drops by to borrow a purse. She walks into the kitchen to find the entire contents of Brigitte's fridge melted, and on the floor. Not only that but Brigitte has stubbed her toe on the cracked linoleum, which made her spill her coffee - all over the doors, which has lead her to buy a new fridge. Natch.

Brigitte convinces (read: bribes) Michelle to stay and help her fix up the kitchen.

Reality Check: Michelle Kelly is a real person. She really is a friend of mine, and best of all? -- knows almost nothing about renovations. This was a good thing, because it made for some great goofs. While she may not be a renovation Diva, she is one of the best elementary teachers anyone could ever hope to have.

We had to rip out the old flooring - and it took us, and the entire crew at least 4 1/2 hrs. to scrape the old glue and linoleum up.

Once the floor was finally up, I had to pick a paint color for the kitchen (we got the tiles cheep, ergo - they dictated the color) - and since white doesn't look great on tv - I opted for a green…no, yellow….no wait! Beige? No, hang on….tan? No..wait...um...

The kitchen got at least three coats of paint before I decided to go with Celery...no wait...
