Episode 21: Bingo Dabbin' Blues
BINGO is a zen game. Not unlike golf, the strategies of Bingo and the utopian heights of joy that can be reached take patience and razor sharp focus. When you're in the 'Bingo zone' the endorphins released into your body will create a feeling of invincibility and triumphant euphoria.
Okay, I'm lying.
BINGO is a highly addictive game and should never be thought of as merely a 'game'. Its seductive siren call of easy winnings will pull you into the water, and then, like the callous harpy it is, dash you against the rocks!
For this episode, Anthony had to figure out how to build a deck big enough to surround a six person hot tub and at the same time make the deck work within the confines of the back yard. Also? He had about 5 minutes to figure out how to do this.
We didn't get the hot tub delivered to the yard until the morning we began shooting, and once we got it in the yard, discovered it was HUGE! So, while the rest of us on the crew stood around making line drawings in the dirt on where the stairs should go, waxed poetic about what the support posts should support, and discussed how high off the ground the deck should be etc. etc., Anthony quietly stood back and created the whole thing in his head.
Does that make him a genius or a saint?
I think both.
