Episode 16: Motorcycle Brigitte
Sometimes TV is like a work-out video. It looks so easy!
The goal: to install new tile and under-floor heating in the front entrance. Simple right? Wrong!
It became one of those never-ever-ending projects. It wasn't that hard, it wasn't expensive, it wasn't even fiddly. It was pretty straight ahead. And in the end, it adds great visual impact to the foyer, but the installation just seemed to go on forever… kind of like loosing those last five pounds from around the area just above where your bra strap sits.
I think the difficulty of this project had to do with the fact that an entire film crew couldn't walk in the front door or upstairs to the bathroom without navigating over a wooden bridge of 2x4's. It's a psychological barrier. Definitely something to think about before you decide to rip apart your front entry.
The way we move through a house or enter a room is as engrained in us as our morning ritual. Mess with these things, and your whole balance is off.
