Gilmore Girls

Me, My
House
& I

Episode 14: Lost and Found

Okay, here's what I thought. Installing a gas fireplace in my home would require a team of crack gas experts all with previous work experience on the Hibernia Oil Fields.

Turns out - I have a fear of gas. Not my own mind you - that's just uncomfortable, and sometimes awkward. No, I'm referring to the kind of gas for BBQ's and Fireplaces that can be brought into your home.

I don't know, maybe I was dinosaur in my past life. Maybe, one day, there I was eating Ginko leaves, and the next? A ball of natural gas erupted under my feet, and that was the end of me and my pea sized brain. So, when we decided to install a natural gas fireplace, that nagging fear was still there. What if, one day, there I was sitting in front of the fireplace and the next - 'woof'! . What??!! I know I'm not the only one who has that fear…

I learned three things the day Anthony helped me install the fireplace:

  1. it wasn't that hard.

  2. the guy who installs your gas line is an expert, and will tell you all about how your shut off valves work, and you will not blow up.

  3. not all the dinosaurs died out during the last ice age.
