Heather is twenty-five, and in the middle of a financial nightmare. She's in over her head in debt, and she has tough choices to make. I gave her a plan and I hope she follows it through because Heather is in a high stakes game - she's losing her condo.

Alison's recommendations for Heather:

  • Talk to your family, you need the support of loved ones to you through your ordeal
  • Cut your spending, especially on eating out
  • Find a cheaper apartment closer to work so you don't burn gas commuting
  • Decide between consumer proposal and bankruptcy, before the bank makes the decision for you
  • Stop behaving like a financial doormat
