Michael Eckford
Michael Eckford is a talented, popular and engaging television personality whose career has included the award winning shows Daytime, Urban Rush, and Breakfast Television. It was on Vancouver's Channel Four that he got his big break, appearing six times a day as co-host (with Fiona Forbes) of Urban Rush. One of his favorite on-air moments was an interview with Quiet Riot (where he sang back-up vocals on "Come On Feel The Noise" very poorly).
After a year at CityTV, Eckford and Forbes returned to host Urban Rush, in its new state-of-the-art downtown studios. The daily interview show has won several awards and has given Eckford a local celebrity status. He is a master interviewer with a charming presence, allowing him to engage people at a very personal level. Some of the well-known personalities among the ten thousand interviews Michael has conducted include Kevin Bacon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lord Richard Attenborough and Judy Blume.
In addition to his award winning hosting Eckford has done extensive voice over work and acted as Master of Ceremonies for many charitable events and high profiles awards shows, including the Leo Awards, a celebration of British Columbia Film & Television accomplishments.
