Claire lives in Northamptonshire with her husband Paul and two children and even though she’s a size 12 – 14 (the national average is 16) she is convinced her body is worse than anyone else’s. Claire’s biggest hang up is her tummy – and she won’t even let husband Paul get near her; ‘If I think he’s looking at me, or tries to touch my tummy, I tell him to get off,’ she says. Claire also has an identical twin sister, who’s a petite size eight – and a constant reminder of the body she used to have. Claire spends her life hiding from the world – covering up with a wardrobe full of baggy v-neck jumpers – she even refuses to take her kids swimming for fear of being seen in a swimsuit. In short, Claire is stuck in a rut.
