Fireplace - Updating Tile Hearths

Spruce up your fireplace by covering existing tile with a fresh new design.

First, you must clean the old tile with a wire brush. Now, using a scraper with metal teeth, spread tile glue evenly over the surface.

Take your new tile, with mesh backing, and press it neatly into place. If necessary, cut the mesh with an Exacto knife to fit the tile into place. Let it dry for 5-6 hours.

Next, add grout and let it partially dry. Clean off the excess grout.

You now have an attractive new hearth for your home.
