EPISODE 58 - Lions and Gargoyles and Wood, Oh My!

Walls - Patching Holes

Patching a hole in your wall is a simple Do-It-Yourself project.

You will need a small extra piece of drywall to complete this job. First, using a drywall saw, cut out the space around the hole so that it becomes a clean square.

Take a little piece of wood and place it at the back of the hole so that the new drywall will have something to adhere to. Secure the wood to the drywall using drywall screws.

Next, fit the new piece of drywall into the hole. Again secure with drywall screws.

Attach drywall mesh tape around the edges. Then, apply drywall compound onto the square and let it dry.

Finally, apply a second coat of drywall compound. Sand it and then paint.

You have now successfully patched a hole in the wall.
