- Every room needs a little bit of black. It grounds the room. You can add something as small as a frame for a picture or you can add something as large as a coffee table. Try painting the frame of an inexpensive mirror.
- If you have a brass fireplace surround that dates your room, you can use barbecue spray paint in black for a quick and inexpensive change. Barbecue paint is resistant to high heat.
