Ingredients

1.5 quart blueberries

1/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup water

2 cups flour

4 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tbsp sugar

2 tablespoons butter or shortening

0 Milk

Directions

Put blueberries, sugar and water in saucepan

Boil gently until they are juicy

Add dumplings (see below), cover tightly, wait 15 minutes and dig in

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a bowl

Cut in butter and add enough milk to make very soft dough

Drop by spoon full into hot blueberries

Cover tightly with a lid and simmer for about 12 to 15 minutes

The dumplings should be puffed and well cooked through

Transfer cooked dumplings to serving dishes

and serve with fresh cream
