Shanti is an over-the-top diva and a self-described “open-minded romantic”. Not afraid to speak her mind, she’s looking for someone who isn’t intimidated by a strong woman. Shanti is hoping the bachelor will be the “real man” she’s been looking for.

Name: Shanti
Home city: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Age: 31
Nickname: SJ, young pup, and little coach
Profession: Real Estate Student

What is the most important thing the bachelor should know about you? I'm like a cookie - tough and strong on the outside, ooey, gooey and melty on the inside.

What makes you different from the other bachelorettes?I'm very worldly. I've travelled and have experienced the cultures of living in both the East and West.

What type of music do you like? I like pretty much everything but I can’t stand New Country. I would rather listen to Polka.

Who is personal your hero? My mom is my hero. She's not perfect by any means, but she has a certain degree of perseverance, determination and curiosity that I haven't seen in anyone else. My mom married out of love, which at the time never happened, and stood up to my dad when he was being too traditional. She's like a wild horse and no one can tame her.

What can't you live without? Music.

What are your relationship deal-breakers? Dishonesty. I've been in all types of relationships - long distance, same city, out of country, open, closed, polyamorous - I'm okay with them all, but in every type of relationship the one thing that's most important is honesty.

What is your dream date? Going on a private plane or a helicopter to a remote destination somewhere tropical where it's just us. We would go snorkeling, hiking, or horseback riding, and enjoying dinner on the beach while the sunsets.

What is one thing on your bucket list? Skydiving.

Favourite place to travel? My favourite place to travel in North America is California, and my favourite place to travel outside of North America is Spain.

What are your three best qualities? I'm easy going, generous - almost to a fault - with my time and money, and full of excitement.

Your three worst qualities according to an ex? That my standards are too high, I'm too particular and I talk too much.

What is the meaning of marriage to you? Marriage is two people who honour each other enough to stand by each other. They know that everyone is human and life isn't perfect, but no matter what, they have each other’s backs.
