Originally from Nottingham, England, Elisa Goldhawke immigrated with her family to the United States in the 1990s and moved to Canada in 2006. Happily residing in Southern Ontario, Elisa has been practicing real estate with The Sutton Group Signature Realty Brokerage, in the influential Oakville area for the past 6 years. Elisa is committed to making the real estate experience as effortless as possible, from first-time buyers to experienced investors. She brings her wealth of experience, love of life attutude and boundless energy to Love It or List It Vacation Homes.

She’s also an animal lover and calls walking her German Shepherd Ramsey her 'zen time'.  Elisa loves to sing and is ready to break into song any time she can talk friends into a night of karaoke.

We were thrilled to get the chance to chat with Elisa recently can't wait to join her for a karaoke evening! Read on for a glimpse into our new host's life off-screen.

What’s been the biggest surprise about working on Love It or List It Vacation Homes?

The biggest surprise about working on the show for me is how much fun you have, but also how much hard work goes into the finished product by everyone involved.

What’s one quirky thing you can reveal about your co-host Dan Vickery?

Quirky Dan… the guy never stops eating! He literally eats all the time, non-stop. I don’t know where he puts it all.

We hear you have a few unique talents yourself and would love to know what they are!

I have many. I can cross both eyes at the same time, I can make my eyebrows dance, and my tongue can touch my nose.

What's your favourite way to start the day?

I start my day with a nice big cup of tea and a chat with Ramsey (AKA Boo).

If we were to peek into your fridge right now, what would we find?

Eggs, grilled chicken, orange juice, milk and some leftover pasta. Oh yes, and my wine gums. Love my wine gums to be kept in the fridge.

What do you do on a typical weekend?

In real estate I work… a lot. But if I do have a free weekend, I like to get stuff done around the house, take Boo on a hike or hang with my fantastic neighbours. The Hubby loves golf so I become a golf widow in the spring/summer, but do a good job in keeping myself busy.

We share your love of karaoke -- what song do you love to sing when you've got the mic?

'I Will Survive' by Gloria Gaynor.

Daydream with us... if you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?

If I won the Lotto, the first thing I would do is take care of all my family and close friends. Then I would open a dog shelter, then all the dogs and I would live happily ever after.

If you hadn't become a real estate agent, what would you be doing instead?

If I hadn’t become a realtor, I really don’t know what I would have wanted to do. If I had my time again I would become a doctor, probably a pathologist. I know…weird, right? But I love science and the magic of the human body.

What's one thing you've always wanted to learn?

I would love to learn Castilian Spanish -- it's a beautiful sounding language.

What motivates you?

Life motivates me. Many times through life I have woke up in the morning and not liked something about the way my life is going. And I figure…well, you have two options, change it or don’t change it. Very simple. I would also opt to change it, no matter what the fear factor was at. Being happy is a huge motivator for me.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

I’ve received a lot of good advice through my life, much of that coming from my Mother and Father. My Dad would always say “We’re the Goldhawkes, we can do anything”. That always stuck with me through life, and I’ve never been afraid to take on new ventures.

If you could choose to escape to the country or stay satisfied in the city, where would we find you?

I’ve always lived in busy cities, so for me escape to the country for the peace and quiet and nature.

What’s the next country to visit on your bucket-list?

Africa on a safari, for sure.

We can't wait to see the beautiful spaces Elisa and Dan feature in Love it or List It Vacation Homes, premiering on May 9 at 10 E/P!
