Outlander finds a new home on W Network and we embrace this program with open arms. Find out exactly why you should tune in before the premiere Sunday, September 10 at 9 E/P.

1. The Writing

Outlander has plots driven by real historical events, seeing as the majority of it is set in 18th century Scotland. The episodes take the viewer on a ride through the past, and it's truly enchanting. The show's plot is taken directly from books written by Diana Gabaldon, that have been bestsellers for years. The first season corresponds with the first book, the second with the second book, and so on and so forth.

2. Amazing Characters

It doesn't take long to become enamoured with the characters in Outlander.  Claire is a strong-willed, independent 1940's woman thrust into an 18th century world. She's an amazing heroine to have in a series like this, that moves from simple historical fiction into romance over time.

Jamie is a highlander, and is in stark contrast to Claire. The two of them complement one another so well, it's fun to see them interact. Jamie's humour and bravery drive him into exciting and scary situations, and we get to enjoy watching them.

Apart from our leading couple, characters like Dougal and Murtagh are beloved by fans as well. There's nothing like a good Scottish highlander to brighten up a television show.

3. The Costumes

Because of the setting in the past, the costumes have to be a bit more elaborate than your average television show. If you're a fan of lavish dresses, intricate lace, and beautiful detail work, you'll enjoy the costumes here.

Even the red coats of the British soldiers was meticulously thought out, so as to make sure the actual colour was accurate and classic enough to use in the show.

4. The Performances

There are fantastic actors and actresses everywhere throughout this show. Small parts, large parts, and all in-between, the performances are exemplary.  Tobias Menzies, who plays two roles in the show, has been hailed by fans as one of the best actors on the show for his portrayals.

5.  It's Critically Acclaimed

Outlander has been the recipient of many People's Choice Awards, and has been nominated for several Emmy's. The show has began to generate much more buzz on the awards show circuit, and I think we can expect it to continue to climb in the minds of critics.

6. The Romance

There's just something unmistakable about the romance in this show. The chemistry between Jamie and Claire is undeniable, and the actors do an amazing job of conveying the connection their two characters have. The viewer can feel the love that they have for one another, and the show has been complimented over and over for the way it portrays the love story of our two leading characters.

There's something magical about Outlander, and believe me, you don't want to miss out. Season 3 of Outlander is coming to W Network this fall, so you can catch up in the highest quality with no interruptions.
