 Red Fife Spinach Pasta with Lemon Basil Pesto

 INGREDIENTS

 

  • 250g Red Fife flour
  • 1 egg
  • water
  • spinach

 

METHOD

 

  1. Before you make the pasta, you’ll need to juice the spinach to infuse into the dough. For that you’re going to use the Philips masticating juicer. A masticating juicer doesn’t create very much heat so it keeps the vital nutrients and enzymes intact to better nourish your body. It also really presses the ingredients so you end up with a very concentrated juice.
  2. Now that you have our spinach juice, combine all of the ingredients into the pasta maker and it’s going to automatically mix, knead and extrude the dough.
  3.  Boil the pasta for 4-5 minutes and mix with this fresh basil pesto.

INGREDIENTS 

  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped 2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 BPA-free can (15 oz / 425 g) black beans
  • 1 BPA-free cans (15 oz / 425 g) chickpeas
  • 2 cans whole or diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup frozen organic corn
  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1-2 tsp hot chili flakes
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste

 METHOD 

  1. Add the onions to the Multicooker and set to saute
  2. Once complete, add the rest of the ingredients, set the Multicooker to the ‘StewSoup’ setting, press the start button and you’re done! 

  

Bun-less Sundried Tomato & Herb Veggie Burger

INGREDIENTS

  • 4-6 sundried tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup sweet pepper (any colour), chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 can cooked navy beans, if using canned (drained and rinsed), pureed
  • ½ white onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
  • 1 egg, whisked

METHOD

1. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix together with your hands. Wet your hands a bit because so the ingredients won’t stick as much.”

2. Form into 2 patties. Place the patties into the cooking basket and slide into the Airfryer.

3. Cook them for 10 minutes.

 
 
Juicy Chicken Burgers with Pineapple Salsa

Ingredients

Burgers
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
  • 2 tbsp gluten-free tamari sauce or coconut aminos
  • 1 lb (450g) organic ground chicken
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • ¼ cup sundried tomatoes
  • ½ cup loosely packed fresh parsley, chopped
Pineapple Salsa
  • ½ fresh pineapple, peeled and cored and sliced into ½ inch pieces
  • 1 sweet red pepper, chopped
  • ½ red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup loosely packed fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive
Method 

1. Turn on grill to and preheat for 6 minutes.
2. For the salsa, brush pineapple with olive oil and grill on medium until lightly browned. Chop into small pieces. In a
medium size bowl, combine with red pepper, onion, cilantro, lime juice, sea salt and pepper. Place in fridge and let
flavours mingle for an hour or two.
3. For the burgers, in a large bowl whisk the egg and tamari or coconut aminos. Add the ground flaxseeds, chicken,
onion, garlic, sundried tomatoes and parsley. Mix well. Form into 4 to 6 patties, depending how large you like your
burgers.
4. Grill burgers for 15-20 minutes or until completely cooked. Serve with pineapple salsa and a big raw salad.
