Anna & Kristina of The Shopping Bags and Anna & Kristina's Grocery Bag say these are the Top 10 Kitchen Products They Can't Live Without. You'll probably need these products in your kitchen, too.

1. Chef’s Knife
The most used knife in the kitchen, the chef’s knife can tackle 75% of the cutting jobs in your kitchen. Look for high carbon stainless steel. The higher the carbon content the longer it will hold an edge. (For shopping tips, see the kitchen knives product review.)

2. Dishwasher
A dishwasher is more economical to use than washing a sink full of dishes by hand. Look for a model with two spray arms for better cleaning. (For shopping tips, see Anna & Kristina's dishwasher product review.)

3. Frying Pan
While copper is the best heat conductor, it isn’t always the most practical or affordable. We like frying pans with an aluminum core and stainless steel shell. Look for a handle that’s riveted instead of welded. (For more shopping tips, see the frying pans product review.)

4. Food Processor
A real time saver in the kitchen. Go for a model that holds at least 11 cups. A direct drive machine (where the bowl sits on top of the motor) is more heavy duty than a model where the motor sits off to the side. (For more shopping tips, read the food processor product review.)

5. Measuring Cups and Spoons
You can cut corners with a lot of kitchen products but measuring cups and spoons are something no baker can be without. Oval measuring spoons tend to fit more easily into spice containers than round spoons. For measuring cups, we like stainless steel for dry ingredients. (Want more shopping tips? Check out the product review.)

6. Microwave
We use our microwaves to quickly heat water, melt butter and chocolate, and defrost in a jiffy. Look for one with a turntable to cook food more evenly. (For more shopping tips, see the microwaves product review.)

7. Pepper Mill
Fresh ground pepper packs a bigger punch than pre-ground. A grinding mechanism made of steel will last a lot longer than one made of zinc. This is one piece of equipment we recommend you spend a bit more on as quality will last you a lifetime. (For shopping tips, see Anna & Kristina's pepper mills product review.)

8. Salad Spinner
This product can make the difference between a tasteless salad and a scrumptious one as dressing won’t adhere to wet lettuce. While there are a few versions on the market, we think a simple, inexpensive hand crank model does the trick just fine.

9. Saucepan
You really need to sizes, a 2 quart and a 4 quart. Definitely check the weight of the saucepan in the store. Some are very cumbersome and heavy to lift one-handed, a common occurrence mid-recipe! (For shopping tips, see The Shopping Bags review of pots and pans.)

10. Wooden Spoons
We have a few sizes and styles on hand. Ones made of olive wood are particularly strong. We like a square head for scraping things off the bottom of the pan. Don’t wash your spoon in the dishwasher though, the high heat can crack it allowing bacteria to get in.
