How can you find out if you have Arrhythmias?

If you have experienced any of the symptoms described in the previous section or think you may have a heart condition, see your doctor. Arrhythmias can cause very serious health problems and should be diagnosed as soon as possible. Arrhythmias can be detected by testing the electrical patterns in your heart using an electrocardiogram (ECG) or Holter monitor (a portable monitor). Both devices measure the electrical patterns in the heart. Based on these patterns, a doctor can find arrhythmias and decide which type you have. The ECG can be done in a clinic. The Holter monitor can be worn for 24 hours to provide a longer measurement of the heart’s electrical patterns. You might also be asked to exercise on a treadmill while the electrical patterns in your heart are measured.

Your heart health is very important. You should have regular physical examinations to routinely check your heart health . If you have a family history of heart disease or suspect that you may have a heart condition, talk to your doctor.
