Gok decided to pursue a career in fashion after having initially studied at London's prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama, his love of fashion and beauty had led him to spark an interest in hair and makeup that led to early work with magazines such as
The Sunday Times Style, amongst others. However, not satisfied with the beautification of others Gok decided to follow his love for clothes. Seven years on, and now with his own team of assistants, Gok has worked for some of the world's leading photographers; from the inimitable Arthur Elgort, Terry O'Neill and John Swannell, alongside trend-setting publications such as
Marie Claire,
The Face and current PPA winner
Clash Magazine.
Career highlights to date have been working recently with one of his idols - Bryan Ferry - for
Millionaire magazine and styling Blondie Debbie Harry and Vince Clarke and Andy Bell of Erasure. He says, "As a child I could never have dreamt that the people I danced around my bedroom to would one day have me telling them what to wear! Just the opportunity to meet them was great but to work with them was electric - a dream come true..."
