Tonight, Italian stallion Joe dons his apron for night one of a five night dinner party marathon. To introduce fellow competitors Dez, Debbie, Kathleen and Carson, Joe breaks the ice with a wine tasting tutorial, featuring his custom wine, labeled with a picture of his pumped pecs.
Joe then turns on the charm, serving up his butternut risotto starter. And to cleanse the palette between courses, Joe flexes his muscles and flirts. Next is his main, stuffed chicken breast with sundried tomato butter and for dessert, distinctly Italian tiramisu.
Will Joe’s big muscles, dimples and Italian menu be enough to win over the crowd and bring home the top prize?
It’s salt, lemon and lots of tequila, on night two of a five night dinner party competition. Tonight, Divorcee Debbie Murphy is hosting a tequila themed fiesta. And to judge tonight’s festivities are fellow guests humanitarian Kathleen, Saxophonist Carson, Mexican Dez and Italian stallion Joe.
To get into the spirit, or spirits in this case, Debbie serves up her signature sour margaritas. After the guests have enjoyed their last sips of tequila, it’s a salad wedges starter. Then Debbie mans the BBQ for her main course, tequila lime chicken, with pico de gallo, For dessert, Debbie puts down the tequila and finishes the meal with key lime pie.
Can Debbie’s Mexican meal impress the senors and senoriatas who will be judging tonight’s meal? Or, will too much tequila take away Debbie’s chances at top prize?
Tonight hot tamale hostess Dez Diaz is treating her guests to an authentic Mexican fiesta. It’s night three of a week long dinner part competition and night two of Mexican themed meals. Last night’s host divorcee Debbie served a tequila soaked evening.
To begin, Dez combines watermelon, arugula and feta cheese for a salad starter. Then, she puts her guests to work. Jazz man Carson, divorcee Debbie, humanitarian Kathleen and Italian stallion Joe get their hands dirty preparing tortillas with Dez’s imported tortilla press. Tonight’s main is polle com mole, which is chicken with a chocolate sauce. For dessert, Pastel Maria, a Spanish sweet with cookies and cream.
Does Dez Diaz have what it takes to win the competition? Or will putting her guests to work sour tonight’s scores?
It’s night four of a whirlwind week of wining and dining. Tonight, Kathleen Douglas is hosting a ‘Summer Elegance’ themed evening for fellow food fanatics Joe, Dez, Carson and Debbie.
With hopes of starting the night off with sparkle, Kathleen serves a pink diamond cocktail. Another special touch is her heartfelt table favours, which brings one diner to tears. The first course is a chilled peach and pear curry soup. The reviews for the soup are as cool as the soup’s icy temperature. Next, Kathleen prepares seared tuna for the main course while some guests team up to pick on the happy hostess. With one final attempt to sweeten her score, Kathleen serves a mojito freeze dessert.
Will Kathleen’s positive attitude be enough to keep her guests smiling and scoring high? Or will lukewarm food reviews and picky guests put her out of the running?
Tonight jazz man Carson is trying his hand as head chef and host in an effort to win a $1000 cash prize.
It’s a 100-mile menu, which means Carson has sourced all the ingredients for tonight’s meal from local farms. To warm up his guest’s chilly attitudes toward one another, Carson serves handmade ravioli with warm parmesan lemon butter. For the main, a hearty home meal of braised veal chops in red wine shallot sauce. And to finish the week on a sweet note, warm peach cake topped with mixed berries and crème fraiche.
Will tonight’s locavore menu be a success? Or will keeping it close to home, keep the scores close to zero?
