A proud shopaholic,
Anna Wallner is forever in search of the perfect find. “Shopping has always been a passion,” says Anna, “and I get a real thrill out of uncovering a hidden gem.”
Before becoming one of North America’s favourite shopping gurus, Anna completed a BA at the University of British Columbia and the graduate journalism program at the University of King's College in Halifax.
A job brought her out west, and in 1994 Anna started her television career as a reporter with Global TV BC. She spent two years as bureau chief of Global’s Fraser Valley News division before anchoring Global’s Your Health news segment.
In 1999, Anna was voted Broadcaster of Tomorrow by the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters. That same year she teamed up with
Kristina Matisic to create
The Shopping Bags, a show dedicated to product testing and shopping tips.
Together with Kristina, Anna is owner and co-executive producer of the successful production company Worldwide Bag Media. The company is responsible for
W Network hits The Shopping Bags, Anna & Kristina’s Grocery Bag and
Anna & Kristina’s Beauty Call.
Launched in 2008, Anna & Kristina’s Grocery Bag focuses on testing cookbooks and kitchen products and is seen in more than 35 countries.
Their widely successful shows have won the shopping gurus eight LEO Awards, five LEO Award nominations, four Gemini Award nominations and a devoted following. In 2005, the TV twosome branched out into the literary world with the publication of their first book,
Tips, Tricks & Inside Information to Make You a Savvy Shopper.
Media darlings, the duo have made regular guest appearances on an array of TV show including
Good Morning America and
The Rachael Ray Show.

A self-described bargain hunter,
Kristina Matisic loves scouting out the best deal. “There’s definitely the thrill of victory when you find a product somewhere for less. It can take some leg work, but it’s worth it!”
Kristina’s journey to become part of North America’s premier shopping duo began with an undergraduate arts degree from the University of British Columbia and a master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California. Kristina spent six years with Global TV BC, first as an overnight news anchor and then as the anchor and producer of the 11:30 p.m. newscast. In 1997, the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters recognized her work when she was voted Broadcaster of Tomorrow.
In 1999, Kristina joined forces with fellow reporter and shopping enthusiast
Anna Wallner to create
The Shopping Bags, which aired on W Network in Canada and the Fine Living Network in the U.S. Together they entertained viewers as they tested products and shared their shopping expertise.
Now owners of the successful production company Worldwide Bag Media, the duo went on to co-executive produce and host two more hit series for the W Network,
Anna & Kristina’s Grocery Bag and
Anna & Kristina’s Beauty Call.
