The Shopping Bags
Funny that many of us will spray on some form of perfume or fragrance to make ourselves smell better. The right fragrance may make us more appealing and attractive to the opposite sex. There’s one product on the market, Lure, that claims it will actually attract members of the opposite sex and has been scientifically formulated using the pheromone (chemical attractant) Alpha-androstenol.
The Alpha-androstenol in Lure is supposed to release a sexual signaling scent that will intrigue a potential “playmate”. Sounds fishy, so we wanted to test it out to see just what would happen. So we dabbed on some Lure as did a couple of testers and headed out to a busy marketplace to see what or who we’d attract.
And to get a more scientific opinion on Lure, we asked endocrinologist Dr. Robert Harris what he thought of this pheromone-infused fragrance. He doesn’t believe there is any substantial evidence that supports this smelly way of seeking out a mate.
One thing we all did agree on is that Lure’s scent is as fishy as its claim. It didn’t smell good at all – it was sickly sweet, overpowering and we all had a difficult time ridding ourselves of it. One of our testers however, did have some success with one male – of the canine variety. Her pet dog really liked it!
