Many of us enjoy a good massage especially after a long hard day. But going to the spa isn’t always an option and it can also get expensive. That’s why the Air-O-Sage boots we saw on TV caught our attention. They promise an easy way to massage tired aching legs and feet while you just lie back and relax right in your own home.
The Air-O-Sage boots also claim to target key pressure points on your legs as well as simulate the pumping action of exercise.
We tried these boots out to see if they could relieve a days worth a stress and strain. To begin with they set us back $99.99 - not bad if they actually work and could give us a nice soothing massage whenever we wanted.
The first thing we noticed was the noise. The control unit was pretty loud – not a good start to something that is supposed to be relaxing. The amount of pressure we felt wasn’t really enough to constitute a massage. We also asked a Shiatsu master to try them out since he really knows deep tissue massage. His opinion was they offered a bit of compression but it certainly wasn’t a massage. He was also skeptical that the Air-O-Sage would be able to hit any pressure points in a way that would offer any positive results. Finally, if you want to give your legs a work-out, then real exercise is the only way to do that; the Air-O-Sage boots aren’t going to do anything for your muscles.
Overall, we think these massage boots should take a hike and we gave them 1 bag out of 5.
