Life just keeps getting busier. It's easy to lose track of each other with so many other things to take care of. Here are some ideas that can help keep both of you connected:

Put that Palm Pilot to good use. Schedule a business lunch - with each other.

Work out together in the mornings or evenings.

If your significant other is working overtime, get some take out food and meet them for dinner at their office.

If you have very young children, find a trusted baby-sitter so that you can give yourselves at least one weekend every three months to spend together. Once your children are older, convert this time into family weekends that have only one thing on the agenda: fun!

Compromise. Maybe the local antique show bores you silly but if your partner would enjoy it, go with them anyway. Later on, they can indulge one of your hobbies.

Walk the dog together.

Visit one of the many "e-greeting" sites on the Internet. You can send a "thinking of you" or "I love you" e-card to you significant other's email. Many sites now offer the added bonus of specifying the date and time your card gets sent. This lets you send a whole slew of cards over time, with only one visit to the site.

Different schedules right now? Leave a note behind in the bathroom or kitchen.

Plan and save for a great vacation together. It's easier to bear seeing less of each other if you know some serious one on one time is coming up in a few months. And you don't have to break the bank in the Caribbean or Europe. Spend your vacation time camping or exploring your own city.

Making time for each other is an important part of any relationship. A little bit of effort will go a long way in helping to prevent your schedule from dictating your time together. After all, it should really be the other way around.
