Create the perfect ambience for your holiday guests with these tips from the designers of Take This House and Sell It!

1. Make it Glow

When entertaining or just relaxing after a long day of Christmas shopping, treat yourself and others to candles that are scented with cranberry or cedar. This will provide a wonderful aroma to relax and enjoy the holiday.

2. Be Prepared

Wrap a few generic gifts - ornaments, wine, chocolate etc. for when someone drops by unexpectedly (make sure you add a note to identify the gift).

3. Tie it All Together

Make beautiful bows for the back of your dining room chairs and tie ribbons to the stem of your wine glasses. Use a color to match your décor.

4. Show You're the Hosts with the Most

When you are baking, use mini loaf pans and mini muffin tins. When you have many small treats, the look of abundance is very pleasing and inviting to guests.

5. Play Christmas Carols

Go back to the classics, Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong or even Engelbert Humperdinck!

Happy Holidays,
