Pence = British currency, smaller amounts. Pence are coins, and 100 pence = 1 pound.

Quid = Slang for money (particularly pounds).

Closet = toilet, half-bath

Squash = soft drink usually made with citrus juice
Takeaways = restaurant take out
Fry-up = a meal consisting of fried foods (might include fried tomatoes, fried eggs, fried potatoes, bacon etc.)

Knickers = Underwear
Pants = Underwear
Trousers = Pants
Frock = dress
Jumper = sweater
Macintosh/Mac = raincoat
Nappy = diaper
Trainers = sneakers / running shoes

Bollocks = a load of bull****
Fag = a cigarette
Fit = good looking
Footie = soccer
Queue = Line up
Snog = Kissing / making out
Oy = hey!
Wanker = someone who's a jerk
Whingeing = whining
Nark = an informer, also narc, originally short for narcotics officer
