Colour Schemes and Fair Skin
Q: I have dark brown hair, green eyes and fair skin, which colour scheme would best suit me?
Full Question
I recently heard of the whole spring, summer, autumn, and winter colour schemes. Which colours pertain to which season? I have dark brown hair, green eyes and fair skin, which colour scheme would best suit me?
Answer
David Clemmer: I wouldn’t want you not to wear a colour you love just because someone told you you shouldn’t. Skin tones and shades really do play a part here. Very few of us are a ‘pure’ season. Trying things on is your best bet and remember to alter colour shades and fabrics to suit you just right.
Winters are very bright, true colours (primary colours, white, black, hot pink), springs are soft pastel colours (aqua, peach, lavender, cream), summers tend to be any colour, but washed out or tinted with grey (pale pinks, greys, greens) and autumns are very rich earthy colours. Think of the changing leaves (goldenrod, forest green, burnt orange). Experiment with different colours against your skin and choose what you feel looks best.
