Hi, I'm in desperate need of some help with my basement. I live in a bungalow but the basement windows are not above ground so it makes the space dark. What colours should I put on the walls to brighten up the room?

When you have a space which does not have a lot of light, it is important to keep to colours which reflect light as opposed to absorb. Even some light colours can absorb light because of the amount of dark pigment in the formula.
Stick to colours which are reminiscent of the Easter season, fresh, bright and just slightly muted, you should also stay away from strong contrasts in your decor; keep your fabrics light and without a lot of large pattern.
Obviously good lighting is key; halogen lights instead of incandescent will do wonders.
