Answer
We’ve tested the KitchenAid food processor (the 12-cup work bowl with 4-cup mini work bowl) on two different occasions, and both times it was our top pick. It features a direct-drive set-up which offers a lot of power and is capable of handling stiffer ingredients like cake and cookie batters and heavy bread and pizza dough. Cheaper belt-driven machines are not as powerful and are better for lighter jobs like chopping and slicing vegetables.

The KitchenAid does everything we’ve asked of it – and done it well. It mixes, slices, shreds, and kneads dough. It has a nice large feed tube which accommodates different sizes of food. It also comes with an additional smaller bowl and blade attachment which are handy for smaller jobs like chopping garlic or mincing herbs. And it comes in a rainbow of colours so will always look great on your counter!
